Innoflate is turning the former Gravity unit at Sol Central into an indoor inflatable park, aiming to open at the end of October. First renders and flythrough.

The former Gravity unit at Sol Central is getting a new tenant. Innoflate, an indoor inflatable park operator, is fitting it out as a large inflatable adventure park and is aiming to open at the end of October.

The park will sit inside the Sol Central shopping and leisure centre on Mare Fair, NN1 1SR. Innoflate says it will be packed with giant inflatables, slides, obstacle courses and interactive play elements, and that it is meant for families, friends and groups of all ages, whatever the weather.

The exact opening day, the full list of attractions and booking details have not been announced yet. Innoflate says they will follow, and its Northampton page has a sign-up for updates.

A first look inside

Innoflate has released a set of computer renders of the planned layout, along with a short 3D flythrough. They are design images, not photographs of the fitted unit, but they show what is going into the space: a long run of connected inflatables in the company’s blue and green, with a bounce floor, arches, slides and climbing sections.

Who the park is for

Innoflate says the Northampton venue is designed “with families and groups at its heart”, with activities for different ages and abilities. It lists birthday parties, school trips, youth groups, community events and family days out among the uses it has in mind.

Across its existing venues, the company runs Open Bounce sessions, themed Nerf activities, Innotots sessions for toddlers, disco nights and party packages, as well as group activities for schools, youth groups and community organisations. Which of these will run in Northampton is part of the detail still to come.

What the company says

Darren Margach, Innoflate’s chief executive, said:

“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing Innoflate to Northampton and, in particular, to Sol Central. We’ve seen first-hand the demand for exciting, active and accessible indoor entertainment, and we’re looking forward to bringing our unique experience to the local community.

“Our parks are all about giving people somewhere they can come together, let loose, get active and have a great time, whatever their age. Northampton is a fantastic next step for Innoflate and we can’t wait to welcome local families, groups and visitors through our doors.”

A new name for Northampton, a growing one elsewhere

Innoflate already runs parks in Scotland and Wales, in Aberdeen, Cumbernauld, Dundee, Inverness, Livingston and Newport. It recently opened in Grimsby, and says Northampton will be its second location in England.

The company describes itself as a growing UK operator of indoor inflatable and slide parks, and says its venues combine supervised play with an inclusive atmosphere.
